So I was 22 year old school teacher with several students that had more than 1 child already. when I wrote this I hated waiting for sex, but knew that God's instructions on the matter were for my good. Happy to say that I married at age 30 and it was SO worth waiting for. No baggage, no memories of other partners, no comparing, no false expectations. And trust galore! I took my own advice.
lyrics
TOO SOON
Too soon, too young
There goes another one
Too fast today
How can I tell them to wait?
The evening sun reaches out across the sky
Black and scarlet shadows mingle in my eye
This moment may soon be gone
Your glory cannot last very long
Youthful innocence and curiosity
Try to cover up their insecurity
I know it, I’ve been there too
How can I get them to see my point of vice
How can I tell them to wait?
Life seems so short at sweet sixteen
They’re always in such a hurry
So scared of being late
When there’s so much to do
And there’s so much at stake
How can I tell them to wait?
Quintessential moments interrupt your peace
Heartbeats pound together looking for release
No wonder you’re so unsure
This decision could change your life forever
The evening sun sinks down beyond your view
The fire that lit your day is burning inside you
Quit fighting, with Him we’ve won the war
He’ll show you something that’s worth waiting for
