about

I have to admit, I'm proud of this little song. Cecilia means "blind". Madonna (the singer) with her "Material Girl" was what I admired as a teeny bopper. When I chose to follow Christ as a teenager, this became my declaration. I choose Christ over any lure of compromise. I don't regret this either. Hebrews 12:1-2

lyrics

FOOL 4 U

I’d rather be a fool for You than be wise in the eyes of the whole wide world
I’d rather be blind they buy into the lies that delight a material girl.
I’d rather fail at all I try and rest assured that when I die
I’d be there on the other side with You
I’d rather be a fool for You

I’d rather be a fool for You than parade on a stage of all I abhor
I’d rather be despised in their eyes then compromise what I stand up for
I don’t need praise for all I do, but just to know that when my time is through
I can be with You.
I’d rather be a fool for You.

For the only truly foolish thing that I could ever do
Is to be afraid to be a fool for You
I’d rather be a fool for You.

I’d rather be a fool for You than abjure what is pure for worldly gain.
I’d rather lose all my pride than to ride on the laurels of fortune or fame
I’d rather run the grueling race then set my own sweet walking pace
If at the end I could see your smiling face
I’d rather be a fool for You, o Lord.
I’d rather be a fool for You.
