Wrote this for a teenager who had a baby as a result of a rape. What a beautiful boy he was. Crazy to think how many women/girls would have opted for abortion. She met a wonderful guy soon before the birth and they married and he adopted the baby. Choose life. Every time.
lyrics
DIVINE
I watch you move and talk and breathe
But all the same I can’t believe
That You are real and not a dream
When such perfection You do seem
It’s a miracle. Why can’t you see yourself the way I do.
You might think you’re “normal”
But you’re nothing of the kind, you are divine.
Divine, God’s image set in you
And you are beautiful. For you are you.
Flesh from human flesh and every life is precious
But the soul that lives inside a man
Can not be made by human hands.
When I hold you close and feel the life beat in your breast
I long to call you my own, but I know you are not mine
You are divine, divine. God’s precious, chosen son
And you are beautiful
For you are one in a million
And no one else is like you
You are the only one
He threw away the mold
And I long to be happy with the way He made me
And I pray that someday you’ll be happy with the way
That He made you.
And holy hands formed your flesh
And holy hands shaped your soul
And I’ve no doubt in my mind
That you are divine. You are divine.
I see the mirror on my wall
I look so big, yet feel so small
A picture frames the tangible
But nothing can contain my soul
Each and every day we grow
But some is change we cannot see
Know the Potter’s in control
And He’s shaping you inside into something divine
Divine, His work has just begun and you are beautiful
For you are one in a million
And no one else is like you
You are the only one
He threw away the mold
And I long to be happy with the way He made me
And I pray that someday you’ll be happy with the way
That He made you.
One day you’ll be happy with the way
That He made you.
